It is his last, because the 26-year-old announces his departure from the platform – although he earns his living with it. He is not alone with the withdrawal, other YouTubers are currently giving up their channels – despite millions of followers. What is behind the collective exodus?
The look is sad, the scenery melancholy, the voice comes from off: With an emotional video, YouTuber Joey’s Jungle announced his withdrawal from the public shortly after the New Year. In the five-minute long clip he is standing on the beach and looks apparently dejected into the camera, in places it seems as if he has to hold back tears.
