Anthoni Salim Opens Up About Investment in Allo Bank

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A number of investors from the Southeast Asian region participated in the fundraising conducted by PT Allo Bank Indonesia Tbk (BBHI). This fundraising is carried out with a capital increase scheme by granting pre-emptive rights (PMHMETD) aka rights issue.

One of the investors involved is the Salim group through its subsidiary PT Indolife Investama Perkasa.

President and CEO of Salim Group Anthoni Salim said the company’s entry to invest in Allo Bank was aimed at building an ecosystem to channel sustainable credit for all Indonesian people.

“We are a trusted brand in Indonesia that provides solutions for the daily needs of consumers of all ages and backgrounds through food products, retail, consumer services, logistics and technology infrastructure,” said Anthoni in a press release, Wednesday (5/1/2022).

“We welcome the opportunity to become Bank Allo’s main strategic partner in building an ecosystem that provides credit services according to need and sustainable for fellow Indonesians,” he continued.

Indolife will absorb 1,303,815,386 shares or the equivalent of 6.00% ownership in the digital bank’s shares.

The current controlling shareholder of Allo Bank, namely Mega Corpora, which controls 90% of the shares, will only absorb 2,712,777,020 Preemptive Rights or around 30% of the total Preemptive Rights.

Meanwhile, other rights will be transferred to other prospective investors, including Indolife.

In this corporate action, the company plans to issue 10,047,322,871 new shares, equivalent to 46.24% of the company’s paid-up capital.

The exercise price of this rights issue is Rp 478/share. Thus, from this corporate action the company will get Rp 4.80 trillion in fresh funds.

It is planned that the funds obtained from this corporate action will be used to strengthen the capital structure in order to increase Core Capital to become KBMI 2 as referred to in POJK 12/2021.

Furthermore, for business development, including developing business activities in the field of credit with technological innovation or known as digital banking.
