During the first week of January, the Government of Mexico City will apply the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for older adults in five municipalities:

  • Iztapalapa
  • Gustavo A. Madero
  • Iztacalco
  • Venustiano Carranza
  • Benito Juarez

The capital authorities detailed on December 30 that between Tuesday, January 4 and Saturday, January 8, it is planned to apply the booster vaccine against the new coronavirus to 640,000 older adults, while from January 11 to Saturday, January 15 they will be vaccinated with the second doses to 340,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 17 from the 16 municipalities of CDMX.

What do you need to bring to receive the booster dose against Covid-19?

  • Identification that proves being 60 years of age or older.
  • Proof of address from the mayor’s office (it does not have to be in the name of the person to be vaccinated).
  • Have completed the vaccination schedule more than six months ago (before July 10, 2021).
  • Keep the vaccination record printed, which can be downloaded from the website www.mivacuna.salud.gob.mx.





The Secretariat of Health of Mexico City reminds that the vaccination appointment can also be consulted on the site www.vacunacion.cdmx.gob.mx and by calling LOCATEL at 55-56-58-11-11.

Vaccination against Covid-19 for lagging population

Last Thursday, December 30, at a press conference, Clark García Dobarganes, general director of Digital Government of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP), detailed that from January 11 to 15, the second dose will be applied for adolescents from 15 to 17 years of age in all the mayors of the CDMX.

The official reiterated that each person who has already been inoculated with the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine will be assigned a vaccination unit, a day and time for the vaccination appointment.

For the application of the second dose for young people between 15 and 17 years of age, the following calendar will be used, according to the initial letter of the first surname:

Booster vaccination for health personnel of private institutions

Clark García Dobarganes explained that from January 11 to 15 they will also apply the booster vaccination for health personnel from private institutions

The capital official explained that the following calendar will be used, according to the initial letter of the first surname:

  • A, B and C: Tuesday, January 11.
  • D, E, F, G: Wednesday, January 12.
  • H, I, J, K, L, M: Thursday, January 13.
  • N, Ñ, O, P, Q, R: Friday, January 14.
  • S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z: Saturday January 15th.

“What we need to be vaccinated as health personnel is to prove that they work in the health sector through a professional ID, card, work identification, payroll receipt, a letter from the health institution, and so on,” he explained.

It is also necessary to have completed the vaccination schedule more than six months ago (before July 10, 2021). In addition to that they must have a printed vaccination record.

The vaccination sites for this group of the population in CDMX are:

  • Arms Room, Sports City.
  • Center for Naval Studies in Health Sciences (CENSIS) of the Secretary of the Navy, Coyoacán mayor’s office.

The Government of Mexico City foresees that by next January 15, 96% of people over 18 years of age in the capital of the country will already have the complete vaccination scheme, while 24% will have the first dose reinforcement.
