Twist in the TNN affair, which continues to divide local elected officials. As a reminder, upon his election in 2020, the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, had proposed the extension of the green belt, Also called promenade du Paillon. For this, he had considered the destruction of two buildings in the city: the Acropolis exhibition center and the Nice National Theater (TNN). Voted on December 10, 2021 by the municipal council, the demolition should therefore take place.
A petition to recognize the interests of the 2 buildings
Following this decision, former socialist municipal councilor Patrick Allemand uploaded a petition “For the rescue of the National Theater of Nice (TNN) and the Acropolis Palace” to recall the history of the two buildings on borrowed time. Friday December 31, 2021, he announced in a press release that more than 5000 people had signed this petition (almost 3,400 online and 1,742 manually).
On the right, the deputy for Alpes-Maritimes, Eric Ciotti, also launched a petition “Save the National Theater of Nice and the Acropolis from destruction!” », Which gathered 3096 signatures. With these two petitions and more than 8000 Niçois opposed to this project, Patrick Allemand hopes for a change of position from the mayor of Nice and continues to defend the buildings.
