The Kilogram of Culture Winter Vote has begun! Determine which events will advance to the final! / Script

You can vote for your favorites once a day by logging in with your social media profile. The winners of the Final Voting from the Winter Voting will be announced at the opening of the Final Voting on January 17th.

Nominees and listeners nominate the award in a total of three votes – two of them took place in 2021, now the Winter Vote is taking place, in which a jury of professionals in the field of social media culture has nominated candidates in eight categories. Only one of the works that will receive the most public support will be put to the final vote.

“Unfortunately, during the autumn and winter period there was another break in the cultural events in the presence of the pandemic, so the voting integrated both on-site and on-screen events. Despite the difficult situation, the list is full and diverse. large – scale concerts and performances that managed to reach their audience in person, “says Ieva Rozentāle, a representative of the jury, the head of the editorial office of LTV Kultūras broadcasts.

The recommendations in the category “My cultural place” were collected throughout 2021. Voting for them will be possible only in the Final vote, which will begin on January 17. The “Kilograms of Culture” award ceremony will take place at the end of February.

In the opinion of the Latvian Radio and Latvian Television jury, the works submitted for the winter vote have been recognized as the most original and high-quality Latvian cultural events, which took place from September to December 31, 2021, and are worthy of fighting for the Kilogram Culture Award. As usual, the jury consists of LTV, LR and LSM cultural professionals – Ieva Rozentāle, head of LTV Cultural Programs, journalists Lilita Eglīte, Eva Johansone, Daira Āboliņa and Henrieta Verhoustinska, LR3 “Klasika” director Gunda Vaivode, journalists Lest Silabriedis and LR1 journalist Toms Treibergs, as well as the editor of the LSM culture section of the portal Laila Burāne.

About the Kilogram of Culture Award

“Kilograms of Culture” is an award for public media in the field of culture, which confirms the active participation of public media in the processes of Latvian cultural life. The award is given by Latvian Television, Latvian Radio and the Latvian public media portal LSM. The tradition dates back to 2012, when the awards were presented for the brightest cultural events of 2011.
