1. Low Saturated Fat Diet
Choosing foods that contain unsaturated fat over saturated fat can lower your cholesterol levels. These foods include oily fish such as mackerel and salmon, nuts, seeds, avocados, vegetable oils and spreads including rapeseed, vegetable, sunflower, olive, corn, or walnut oil.
2. Sports
It doesn’t matter what activity you choose and it can range from walking to dancing. But doing 150 minutes of exercise every week can lower cholesterol. The only thing to note is that the intensity of the exercise should be moderate, which means it increases the heart rate and makes you sweat.

3. Quit Smoking
The benefits of quitting smoking can be felt very quickly. Within 20 minutes of quitting, blood pressure and heart rate may recover from the spikes caused by smoking. After a year without smoking, the risk of heart disease is reduced by half. Quitting smoking can also increase good cholesterol and reduce your risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or cancer.
4. Reduce Alcohol
Drinking less alcohol offers a variety of health benefits. Drinking too much can lead to high blood pressure, stroke, and even heart failure. The NHS recommends avoiding more than 14 units of alcohol a week.
