The deputy “La République en Marche” (LREM) of the 2nd constituency of Loiret, Caroline Janvier, who has gone to war against the screens, sees her convictions confirmed. A meta-analysis * published in The Lancet Digital Health reinforces its commitment. The study shows that exposure to the screens of cellphones and other tablets, during childhood, is associated with an increased risk of myopia. This study is nevertheless limited by the fact that the periods spent in front of a screen are imprecise as well as the conditions of light and distance between the eye and the screen. The real problem remains that the time spent by children in front of a digital screen reduces the time spent outdoors or devoted to education and reading.
