It is unbelievable, but Hugo de Jonge does not have a single report in which the authors turn against the ridiculous 2G system, but two. Pieter Omtzigt discovered this today when he was reading through some bills and the like on his day off.
“Huh?” Omtzigt wonders aloud on Twitter today, “another advice about the 2G system was sent to the House in an annex on 21/12.” That’s the date the famed other report, which was negative about 2G, was sent to the House, which was weeks late, and in fact on the eve(s) of Christmas. This was deliberately done by De Jonge to ensure that the House could not view this information for the planned debate about 2G, which was eventually postponed… so that he is still in trouble.
“That very critical advice from the digital advisory committee dates from November 19 (!),” Omtzigt continues, “[dat wil zeggen] from before [de] submission of the bill.”
Omtzigt caught De Jonge
In a normal situation, that information would then have been submitted to the House immediately, or in any case at the time of the bill’s submission. But no. Nothing is less true. De Jonge waited until December 21 and did so in the most inconspicuous way possible, no doubt hoping that no one would the document would actually find (and read).
