Covid: faced with an increase in cases, France places the United States on its red list of travelers

Unvaccinated travelers from the United States will have to undergo a 10-day quarantine, which can be checked, upon their arrival in France from this Saturday. Until then, they simply had to isolate themselves for a period of 7 days.

According to a decree published this Saturday, January 1, 2022 in the Official Journal, the United States are now placed on the red list countries in which an active circulation of virus is observed with the presence of variants of concern.
While this announcement does not change anything for people who have a complete vaccination schedule, those who are not vaccinated will now have to comply with a 10-day quarantine which will be controlled by the police instead of the simple seven-day self-isolation followed by a test planned for travelers coming from one of the countries on the Amber List.

This placement of the United States on the red list comes as the country faces a surge in new daily cases of Covid.

In addition, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania also join this red list, while Canada and the Comoros leave it.
