Quiet New Year’s Eve: 250 missions in Lower Franconia

The balance of the police on New Year’s Eve in Lower Franconia is relaxed: the officers had to move out a total of 250 times. The officers were therefore called 100 times.

Old Main Bridge Würzburg: Celebrants without distance and with alcohol

Despite the alcohol and firecrackers ban in the city center, many drank alcohol and lit fireworks. When asked, police spokesman Philipp Hümmer could not answer how many of the 25 reported violations in all of Lower Franconia can be traced back to this celebration. The police found similar damage to other residential buildings in the street. The property damage is around 2,000 euros. The police assume that an air gun was used. Witnesses should report to the police in Hassfurt.

Several small fires in Lower Franconia

In Ostheim vor der Rhön the fire brigade had to move out and extinguish a burning hedge. It had caught fire from a stray rocket. The fire brigade was able to prevent the flames from spreading to an adjacent house. The damage is 1,000 euros.

A hedge also burned in Westerngrund in the Aschaffenburg district. Residents were able to put out the flames before the fire department was there. The Aschaffenburg district fire inspection reports that the emergency services were able to return to the area after the fire had been checked. In Alzenau in the Aschaffenburg district, the fire brigade was also called to a chimney fire. The emergency services were able to remove the danger together with a chimney sweeper.

The Würzburg fire brigade had to move out twice during the night: once because of burning garbage cans, once because people were locked in a broken elevator. At the turn of the year 2019/2020, the Würzburg fire brigade had twelve missions.

Confrontation in Geroda

In Geroda in the Bad Kissingen district there was a dispute between several young people and a 53-year-old resident on New Year’s Eve. One of the youths kicked a street lamp, another set fire to firecrackers and thrown it against the man’s window. There was no damage. The police then triggered the celebration of the young people.

Family celebrates New Year’s Eve in Karlstadt – despite the quarantine

In the Karlstadt district of Stetten in the Main-Spessart district, neighbors celebrated New Year’s Eve together. The problem: One family was actually in quarantine. The four people have violated the order of the health department. According to the police, the celebration has ended. In addition, the family expects a lawsuit for violations of the Infection Protection Act.
