Imposing sanctions, Putin threatens Biden with total destruction of US-Russia relations

MOSCOW – Talks between the President Russia Vladimir Putin and his counterpart President United States of America (AS) Joe Biden doesn’t seem to be going well, if not to say it’s going hot. The two of them exchanged threats related to the crisis that occurred at the border Ukraine .

During the 50-minute phone call, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned President Joe Biden that relations between the two countries could collapse if the US imposed sanctions on Russia for its actions in Ukraine.

Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said Putin told Biden the sanctions could cause a complete breakdown in relations between the two countries.

“Our president also mentioned that it would be a mistake that our descendants will see as a grave mistake,” he said.

It was previously reported that Biden claimed to have made a firm threat to Putin over the phone. The American leader said Russia would pay a heavy price if it stepped into Ukraine again.

“I explained to President Putin that if he makes another move, if he goes into Ukraine, we will have severe sanctions,” Biden told reporters as he left a Wilmington, Delaware restaurant.

Reinforcing Biden’s remarks, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the US would respond if Russia went ahead with its invasion of Ukraine.
