Amira Pocher (29) was 13 years old when she witnessed a terrible crime: A man stabbed a passerby with a knife right in front of her eyes. Blood had splattered on the victim’s face. Oliver Pocher’s wife (43) has now told the whole story
She was waiting for the bus home from school at the time. “I had tucked my portfolio under my arm to paint when someone stabbed me in the eye,” recalls Amira in the podcast “The Pochers here”.
“One guy chased another and stabbed to death while trying to escape,” the report said. I was splattered with blood from standing between them. “After 200 meters the victim collapsed.” Although she believes that he survived, Amira will never forget the attack and the perpetrator.

“My mother forbade me to make a statement to the police because she was afraid he would take revenge,” said Amirа.
A few days later, the police knocked on her door. The bad news was that the victim was sick and the blood spatter may have infected Amira. “We have to examine your daughter because the victim who was stabbed had hepatitis C,” the police told Amirá’s mother. Amirа was tested regularly for three months.
The bad news is that your brother was only recently born and Amirа was banned from hugging him. She says in the podcast: “That really hurt me.”
A knife attack took place almost 17 years ago. Amirа is long past the incident, but she has not forgotten it. She remembers the attacker to this day and even ran into him a few months ago. She happened to be traveling with a friend to what was then her homeland, Austria.
