‘Taboo’ reflects on how hard it is to be a woman

Philippe Geubels surrounds himself on Sunday evening in Taboo with women. Good for a good dash of humor between conversations that come in even stronger than usual if possible.

To talk about what it is like to be a woman, Geubels has invited CD&V politician Lore Baeten (26), among others. She talks very emotionally about how she has to deal with oppressive feelings to this day after she was raped at the age of fifteen. And she is not the only one who tells in tears at Geubels about traumatic events from the past.

Stubborn prejudices, migration background, equal pay for equal work and gender differences in education or biology are all reviewed when presenter Kat Kerkhofs, comedienne Sarah Vandeursen, student Rabia, businesswoman Pascale and philosopher Griet dig into their own experiences as women. (jdr)
