The farewell took place at 16.00, Riga Crematorium.

Jauns.lv has already reported that Alex passed away on December 27, at the age of 59.

“My sister Alex (Oleg) Andrejev didn’t wake up this morning. We just celebrated the best Christmas in the world, just like in my childhood,” the musician’s daughter Aija Andrejeva said on Facebook.

Oleg Andrejev or Alex was the leader of the Latvian heavy rock band “Opus Pro”, co-author of songs such as “You and I”, “Pink Rain”, “Family”, “The Last Stop”, “Champion”, the father of daughters Aija and Laura.

The musician was born on October 10, 1962 in Daugavpils. Alex has been at the core of the Opus Pro band since 1986 with guitarist and songwriter Harry Zariņš. The group was established in 1986. “Opus Pro” was one of the most popular Latvian groups in the 80’s and 90’s of the 20th century.

He also worked as a member of the Latvian group “Riga” in the USA in the early 1990s, returning to the stage after a long break in 2011, then actively collaborating with former group member Harijs Zariņš, his daughter Aija Andrejevs, and actively performing as part of “Opus Pro”.
