The prefecture of Côte-d’Or is taking new measures to deal with a degraded health situation

The health situation has deteriorated significantly in Côte-d’Or, indicates the prefecture of Côte-d’Or in a press release, “The incidence rate increased by 1,143%, from 49 to 609, in less than a month and a half.” This is why the authorities have decided to take new measures applicable from this Thursday, December 30, 2021.

Wearing a mask outside becomes compulsory again from 11 years old in Dijon, Beaune, Chenôve, Talant, Chevigny-St-Sauveur, Quetigny, Fontaine-les-Dijon, Longvic, Auxonne, St-Apollinaire, Nuits-St-Georges and Châtillon-sur-Seine. it is also compulsory in all municipalities in the following cases, from December 30, 2021 and until January 31, 2022 :

  • on open-air markets, fairs, flea markets and unpacked sales
  • during any gathering (declared events, festivals, street performances) including those for which access is subject to presentation of the health pass
  • within a radius of 50 m around places subject to the obligation to wear a mask
  • within a radius of 50 m around educational establishments at the time of arrival and departure of pupils.

Steps for the New Year

The prefecture also takes specific measures before New Year’s Eve. Measures applicable from December 31 to January 2 included:

  • Prohibition of all alcohol consumption on public roads throughout the department
  • Ban on gatherings of more than 50 people
  • Ban on dancing activities in L-type public buildings (e.g. multipurpose rooms, party rooms)
  • Closure of drinking establishments at 2 a.m.
