In addition to the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, soloists – pianist have also taken part in the recording, which was made this year in the concert hall “Lielais dzintars”. Agnese Egliņa and accordionist Artūrs Noviks, informs LSO representatives.

The piano concert, composed in 2013, in the message of which the composer encoded the story of the multifaceted relationship between children and parents, had its premiere in Riga at the beginning of the same year, performed by Agnese Egliņa, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Maris Sirmas. Shortly afterwards, Agnese Egliņa together with LSO and conductor Atvars Lakstīgals also performed this concert at the 21st Liepāja International Star Festival.

After the premiere of the piano concert, music critics said that this Bear’s work is remarkable for its powerful contrasts, unquenchable power, many interesting musical discoveries, playful playing with musical motifs and styles, but above all with the ability to captivate and bring along. In addition, Agnese Egliņa with her explosive temperament and fascirical technique performs real miracles in this rhythmically, melodically and timbrally complicated composition – in her free time from the solo part she flourishes rhythmic patterns, but for a more unusual sound in the third part of the concert.

The Latvian Symphony, written in 2019, was written within the framework of the centenary symphony cycle of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra. Immediately after its unique Liepāja concert cycle, the orchestra started it to create a fund for Latvian symphonic music for future generations.

“Kārlis Lāčs symphony is the next work after Kalniņš the Fourth, which reveals the beautiful soul of our nation very deeply. Bravo!” After the premiere of the symphony in October 2019, Uldis Lipskis, the conductor of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, shared his impressions in the concert hall “Lielais dzintars”. “Themes and ethnic motifs of Latvian folk songs can be heard here. The history of Latvia, the formation of the state and its centenary in the half-hour-long symphony intertwine with the current flow of Latvian time.”

He will take part in the presentation of the album on December 30 in the concert hall “Lielais dzintars” Kārlis Lācis, as well as the conductor Atvars Lakstīgala.
