514 new infections and active cases rise to 4,779

Another week of rebound in Galicia ends with active cases very close to 5,000 (this figure will be exceeded tomorrow or the day after) and infections above 500 for the fourth consecutive day. This week ends with 77.11% more infections than the previous one, and in recent days the growth percentage has continued to decline. Today’s 514 new cases are 71.3% more than last Sunday’s 300. The worst news today is how those admitted to the ICU have increased. The areas of southern Galicia continue to be the most affected, with an incidence of 663 in Ourense city, one of the largest in Spain in an urban municipality. The incidence at 14 days is already 173 and that of 7 days at 110.

Hospital pressure increases considerably today, especially in the ICU. There are 4 more admitted to the ward and 6 more to the ICU, making a total of 114, 41 more than last Sunday.

Vigo and Ourense continue to be the main sources of concern. The ol’ívica area registers today 154 infections, and the ourensana more, 164. The rest of areas are to a considerable distance of the two of the south of Galicia.

These are the most relevant data of today:

  • The number of new cases increases by 214 compared to 300 last Sunday.
  • Active cases rise to 4,779, an increase from 383 infected.
  • The number of people hospitalized rises from 104 to 114, 41 more than a week ago.
  • The incidence at 14 days rises 14 points to 173 and the 7-day incidence rises 8 points to 110 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Today Sunday more diagnoses are registered than the 300 on Sunday, November 21. Today’s 514 new cases are the 8,24% of positive diagnoses of 6,232 PCR tests, while the 300 of last Sunday were 6.49% of positives of 4,616 tests.

The Sergas data website says that in the last 24 hours, 519 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by PCR, and the difference between the total number of infected since the start of the pandemic today (189,061) and yesterday ( 188,547) is 514 people. In the same way, the new infections that we indicate by health area are calculated with the same procedure.
