The list of “red” countries includes 15 countries. Passengers returning from these countries will undergo a PCR test and be quarantined until a negative result is obtained.
In Israel, after the recommendations of the commission of the Ministry of Health, several decisions were made in connection with the spread of COVID-19. For example, the list of “red” countries, which is prohibited for Israeli citizens, has been changed. About it informs Prime Minister Naftali Beneta on Facebook.
The UAE, USA, Ethiopia, Great Britain, South Africa, Hungary, Tanzania, Nigeria, Spain, Portugal, France, Canada, Switzerland and Turkey will remain on the list of “red” countries.
From December 30, Mexico will be “red”.
The rest of the countries that were previously on the “red” list will move to the “orange” category.
The Ministry of Health also changed the quarantine rules for arriving passengers.
Passengers returning from “red” countries will undergo a PCR test and be quarantined until a negative test result. This decision will take effect at midnight on December 29-30, after approval by the Knesset Legislative Commission.
After returning from the “orange” country:
-
Vaccinated or recovered passengers will be in home quarantine until a negative PCR test result is obtained on the third day after returning to the country (the day of landing is the first day).
-
Passengers who are not vaccinated or who have not been ill will be in home quarantine for 14 days (with the possibility of reducing the quarantine to seven days with two negative PCR tests).
Also, according to the proposals of the ministerial commission:
-
Students of the fifth and sixth grades in the “red” cities, if one of the students in the classroom has a coronavirus, will switch to learning in a limited contact format (online / outdoors).
-
Students in grades one through four in red cities, if one of the students in the classroom has a coronavirus, will, as far as possible, move to learning in a limited contact format (online / outdoors).
These decisions came into force at midnight from 28 to 29 December and will remain in effect until Sunday 9 January 2022.
