The police were able to prevent a woman from jumping from a viaduct near Bergen op Zoom on Wednesday afternoon. The Bergen op Zoom-Noord exit of the A4 was closed for some time because the woman was hanging from the railing of the viaduct. The police placed an air cushion under the viaduct as a precaution.
A police negotiator was also there to talk to the woman. The woman did not jump and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The road has since been reopened and traffic on the highway is moving again.
