Xiaomi 12 Pro has ultra-fast charging with 120 watts

In early December, the news came that Xiaomi 12 Series would be the first mobiles with 8th generation Snapdragon (888) processor. Which is their fastest to date. Now the mobiles have been launched, but only in China, where you can buy them from 31 December.

But even if the new phones will not be available in Europe, they are still interesting. They are a taste of what we can expect. Especially when it comes to battery and charging.

Ultra-fast charging

Xiaomi 12 Pro – along with its own predecessor 11T Pro – has the fastest charging speed to date on all phones sold. It can charge with a staggering 120 watts – which is several times faster than most other mobiles today have to offer. With the exception of the 11T Pro, that is. The fastest MacBook Pros (140W) is approaching, and a charge of 1 to 100 percent should go on for 18 minutes!

The battery itself is also a good step up the development ladder. It has a capacity of 4600 mAh, and that from a single battery cell. Normally there are two for this capacity. It may sound unimportant, but with such charging speeds as here, two battery cells will contribute to more heat, and shorter battery life.

Xiaomi 12: Two models

In addition to the Xiaomi 12 Pro, there is also a non-professional version. This has a two-cell battery of 4500 mAh, and does not support 120 watts charge, but still has a full 67 watts to offer. It should take 39 minutes to fully charge the battery on it.

Both phones have built-in storage memory with a transfer speed of 6,500 Mbit / s. Among the fastest SSDs, in other words.

Both also support Dolby Atmos, and 120 Hz screen. Xiaomi 12 has a 6.28-inch OLED screen with 2400 x 1080 pixels (419 ppi). The Pro version has a larger 6.73-inch screen with 3200 x 1440 pixels (521 ppi). The eye perceives anything over 300 ppi (pixels per inch) as photorealistic, so both hit this hard.

Both monitors support both Dolby Vision and HDR10 Plus, in addition to the standard HDR10.

Camera

Both phones have cameras that use artificial intelligence (AI) to detect the eyes of people, figures and pets.

Xiaomi 12 uses the main camera Sony IMX766 with 50 MP, as well as a 13 MP ultra-wide angle and a 5 MP telephoto camera. 12 Pro has the main camera Sony IMX707 and has 50 MP on all three cameras. 12 Pro should be particularly impressive in poor lighting and for night photography.

Availability and price

Both phones will be released on December 31 in China, where Xiaomi 12 costs 3699 RMB (approx. 5,000 kronor), while Xiaomi 12 Pro costs 4699 RMB (approx. 7000 kronor).
