The increase in the taxpayer’s discount will cost almost 13 billion crowns. It will help noticeably and the socially weaker, as opposed to abolishing the super-gross wage.
The basic tax rebate per taxpayer will increase by three thousand crowns from 1 January 2022, from 27,840 to 30,840 crowns. The public coffers will be deprived of this intervention by another 12.5 billion crowns a year. However, the measure will come in handy at a time of rapid headline inflation and declining real earnings, which may be most pronounced next year since the 1990s.
Increasing the taxpayer’s discount leaves taxpayers more money in their pockets, which will make it easier for them to cope with rapidly rising prices or even rising energy bills. We will not avoid either of them next year. In addition, increasing the taxpayer’s rebate is more socially balanced than, for example, the so-called abolition of the super-gross wage, which benefits richer people more than poorer ones.
The additional loss in public budgets in the amount of the aforementioned almost thirteen billion crowns, which arises from the increase in the discount, is thus a reasonable price for relieving domestic households, led by low-income ones, in the next, economically demanding year.
Fiala’s government announces that during the provisional budget, which will be a reality in the initial weeks of 2022, it will rework the current budget for next year in such a way that it will find savings in the order of tens of billions of crowns. If this were to happen, the increase in the taxpayer’s rebate in 2022 would not represent a significant additional burden on public finances. The measure therefore has an acceptable “price / performance” ratio.
The flat tax is a loser. And because of inflation, it will probably remain so
People have the last two weeks to enter the flat tax regime. This year, interest in it fell short of expectations, which will probably be repeated next year, also due to rapid inflation.
Netflix, HBO and Disney want Czech viewers. How will Nova and the others react?
Three global streaming services will head to the Czech Republic in the coming months. It will complement the offer of interactive television, led by Netflix. The domestic station must also respond to this. Nova therefore pushes her Voyo and has big plans with him. What will be the fight for a viewer who is increasingly deviating from traditional television and is actively looking for entertainment himself?
