Dominik Kotarski has with Ajax still has a contract until the summer of 2023, but there is a chance that he will not return to Amsterdam. The Croatian goalkeeper has been loaned to HNK Gorica, who is very pleased with him and is seriously considering raising the purchase option.
Kotarski (21) was not eligible for a place under the bar at Ajax in the first and was loaned to HNK Gorica to make flying hours. He’s doing well there. There is a chance that Kotarski, accompanied by agents Filip Naranca and Vincenzo Cavaliere, will not return to Ajax.
When announcing the rental deal, Ajax did not report whether HNK Gorica had stipulated a purchase option. According to Cavaliere, the club does have it and there is a good chance that it will be lifted. “Dominik is doing well in Croatia and is the first goalkeeper of Croatia U21. With him they have only lost two of the twelve games. The club has a buy option and it will probably be lifted,” Cavaliere said. FootballFirst.
As far as Naranca is concerned, Kotarski would not have been out of place at Ajax. However, the reason for the rental was clear. “Dominik fits perfectly with Ajax’s way of playing. He is strong with his feet and the statistics speak for themselves. He just had to get to playing and that’s why we opted for a rental. The relationship with Ajax has always been good and professional and still is,” he says.
Kotarski played in the youth of NK Tondach Bedekovčina and GNK Dinamo Zagreb. Ajax bought him in the summer of 2017 for an amount of around two million euros. Kotarski did not make his debut in Ajax 1, he played sixty matches for Young Ajax.
