Resonance FM is an alternative British radio station that The Guardian has named London’s best radio station, while Time Out has described it as “extremely eccentric”. It is run by the London Musician’s Collective and co-funded by the Arts Council of England.
The first release of “Such Music” was released at the end of November by new musicians such as Grammy-nominated microtonal viola player Mat Maneri and pianist Lisa Ullén by Peter Margasaks from Downbeat. “Named one of Stockholm ‘s most virtuoso and brave musicians. In her improvisation, Maneri experiments with the use of unusually heavy effect pedals for her stylistics, while Ulaine recorded her harmony improvisation in a small chapel in the north of Sweden. The jingle of the show was created by vocalist, composer, improviser and writer Jason Kahn.
“Such Music” is considered to be an international version of the Latvian Radio 3 program “Such Music”, which Andriksson has been conducting on the last Wednesday of every month for more than two years. The Latvian version of the show has also been created by prominent avant-garde musicians, including Evan Parker, the old composer of European free improvisation, Richard Barrett, the composer of “New Complexity”, and the Black Leather Jesus, a Texas music ensemble. Much of the richness of these new works will also be played on “Resonance FM” waves, but the content of the two programs will never be identical.
The next release of “Such Music” will sound on the waves of “Resonance FM” on January 3, and will feature new works by American drummer Luther Gray, Lithuanian tub player Simonas Kaupinis, as well as an unpublished record of the duo from the project “bbb “, which includes Swedish musicians Ola Rubin and Martin Küchen.
Although the first two series of “Such Music” were broadcast at different times, with the February release the show will be played on the first Saturday of each month.
