The emergency services are in Oslo after a report of an accident.
– A person has ended up under a tractor snow blower, the Oslo police write on Twitter.
The person has been declared dead by health personnel on the spot.
– The cause of the accident is currently unclear, the police write.
According to operations manager Per-Ivar Iversen in the Oslo police district, they received notification of the incident from a neighbor.
– The person in question has not witnessed the incident. We know little about the course of events at the moment, he told VG just after 10.00. The police are on the scene now, and receive an explanation from any witnesses, Iversen added.
It has been snowing heavily in the area for the last few hours.

Relatives not notified
Just before ten o’clock, the emergency services were notified that there had been an accident at the site behind us. When we arrive, we see that there is a person under such a small plow tractor. The emergency services are working hard to free him, but we must unfortunately state that he is dead on the spot, the police task leader on the spot, Svend Bjelland, tells VG.
He explains that at present it is far too early for the police to say anything about the cause of the accident:
– We work to map whatever technical traces may be on site. We also talk to witnesses and hope we can get a clearer picture of what has happened here, says Bjelland.
According to crime watch leader Mona Nordby, they know that the person has run down a small hill.
– We will investigate further and have several hypotheses. The case is being investigated as a work accident, says Nordby to VG.
The police do not want to give any details about the deceased yet.
– This means that we have not yet notified relatives. We are also not completely 100 percent sure of the identity, even though we have a good idea of who this is, says task leader Bjelland to VG.
Looking for witnesses
At 10.55, operations manager Iversen also informed VG that relatives had still not been notified, and that the police had not come into contact with witnesses who had seen the incident itself.
– Everything indicates at the moment that the deceased is the one who drove the snow blower, Iversen said then.
At the scene of the accident, operations manager Bjelland explains that the police are continuing their investigation at the scene.
– Now we will continue to secure what may be technical traces and talk to any witnesses on the spot. We want to get in touch with people, if anyone has seen the incident.
