Rosenheim / A93 (ots)
Suspected smugglers and other “travel organizers”
The Rosenheim federal police found around 30 illegal entry attempts on Christmas days. Some migrants used the help of third parties for their intended border crossing. On Christmas Eve, the officials initiated criminal proceedings against a Cameroonian for smuggling foreigners into the country.
At the border control point on the Inntal motorway, the officers stopped a car with an Italian license plate. At the wheel was a Cameroonian national who presented his passport and a residence permit for Italy for inspection. When checking the passengers on the back seat bench, however, the federal police found that they were traveling without documents. According to their own information, it is a 17-year-old Cameroonian and a 29-year-old from Nigeria. After the police measures had been completed, the elderly person was referred to the responsible immigration authorities, as he had already been registered in Germany in the past. The minor could be entrusted to the care of the youth welfare office. Your provisionally arrested driver had to pay 1,000 euros by order of the public prosecutor to secure the criminal proceedings. He will probably soon have to answer for smuggling foreigners into the country.
In a car registered in Germany, the federal police checked two Syrians on the A93 near Kiefersfelden. The 35-year-old driver was able to identify himself with an Austrian refugee passport. His co-driver of the same age did not have the papers required for entry. He was sent back to Austria. After the driver was reported for aiding and abetting the illegal entry attempt, he was allowed to continue his journey.
Also on the A93, the federal police arrested a Pakistani. The 42-year-old tried to bring a compatriot to the Federal Republic. He was only traveling with an expired residence permit. The driver was charged with aiding and abetting. Since he has a permanent residence in Lower Saxony, he was then allowed to leave the office of the Federal Police. His 29 year old companion was handed over to the Austrian authorities.
