President Bashar al-Assad’s government media, TO YOU, reported this morning’s air strike was the second in a month on a key Syrian facility.
Quoting an unnamed Syrian military official, TO YOU, reported that several missiles hit the container area of the port, causing some of them to catch fire.

The official said the airstrikes had caused massive material damage.
According to the official, efforts are still being made to extinguish the blaze and assess the damage. There have been no reports of casualties or injuries.
Some of the videosposting on social media showed huge explosions and fires blazing across the harbour.
There was no immediate comment from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Until earlier this month, attacks on the port of Latakia had been very irregular. The port is a vital facility through which much of Syrian imports are brought into the war-torn country and where Iran reportedly carries weapons for its militias in the country, including the Lebanese Hezbollah militia.
