Two young people in Medan, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) chases mosque guards using machetes because they are annoyed with the password WiFi the mosque was changed to be named a suspect. Both have been arrested.
“Already as a suspect,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Medan Police, Iptu Jefri Simamora when asked for confirmation, Tuesday (12/28/2021).
Jefri said the disclosure was a quick move by the East Medan Police Chief after receiving reports from the public. The officers immediately arrested the two suspects for further processing.
The two suspects who were arrested are IM and D. Both have also been detained by the Medan Timur Police. Both were suspected of threatening the victim with a machete.
“Already (detained),” said Jefri.
Previously, these two young men in Medan suddenly went viral on social media for chasing mosque guards because they were annoyed that the mosque’s Wifi password was changed. The two of them even swung their machetes at the mosque guards.
From the video footage seen by detikcom, the two perpetrators seemed to come to the victim to the back of the mosque. A man who is known to be a mosque guard runs away in fear. Behind him, two perpetrators were seen chasing him with machetes.
