After the Municipal Council in Plovdiv gave the green light in early December for the creation of modern and environmentally friendly public transport in the city under the hills, the municipality has already announced competition to elect a head of the new company “Ecobus – Plovdiv” Ltd., which will operate 20 electric buses and charging stations.
The announcement for the competition was published on the eve of the Christmas holidays, and it will be held in three stages – selection by documents; evaluation of the 10-year concept for the development of the company and an interview. The documents for participation in the competition are submitted to the office of the Municipality of Plovdiv, “St. Stambolov ”№1, every working day from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm until January 24, 2022.
The newly elected chief will head the municipal company for a period of 4 years. Applicants must have a master’s degree, but it is not specified in which field, they must have at least 5 years of professional experience. Another criterion is “good reputation and integrity”. The candidate for chief will have to develop and present a concept for the development of “Ecobus Plovdiv” for 10 years.
The company is still in the process of being established, and the money for its establishment will be sought through European programs. BGN 21.6 million without VAT are needed for the delivery of 20 electric buses, installation of charging stations and construction of a landfill.
