Russia has overcome this Monday the barrier of 10.4 million cases and 305,000 deaths from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, although it maintains a downward trend in the figures after the rebound registered between October and November.
The national operational center for the fight against the coronavirus has indicated that during the last 24 hours, 23,210 infections and 937 deaths have been reported, which brings the total figures to 10,415,230 and 305,155, respectively.
The capital, Moscow, ranks as the city with the most positives and deaths during the last day, with 2,239 and 68, respectively. St. Petersburg has confirmed 1,834 cases and 60 deaths, for the 1,616 positives and 52 deaths in the Moscow province.
The agency has stressed that 9,293,486 people have recovered to date from COVID-19, while the National Office for Consumer Protection (Rospotrebnadzor) has indicated that 1,389,693 people are under observation as possible cases, according to has reported the Russian news agency Sputnik.
