A magnitude 5.5 earthquake shook the Mediterranean Sea nearly 177km from Turkey’s southwestern Turkish province of Mugla, disaster officials said.
The quake struck last night at 9.59pm local time, about 177km from the town of Datca in Mugla, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Service (AFAD).
AFAD also said the quake struck about 21km from one of the Greek islands of the Dodecanese, located between the island. Rhodes and Fr. Crete.
It happened at a depth of 36.2 kilometers below the surface, the service added. There are no reports of casualties or serious material damage.
The quake was felt mainly in the eastern part of the island. Crete.
