Symptoms of COVID-19 Complained by 2 New Omicron Patients at RSPI Sulianti Saroso

Jakarta

Omicron cases in Indonesia increased by 27 cases per Sunday (12/26/2021) bringing the total cases to 46 people. Of the 27 reported cases, 26 of them were imported cases, while the other was a local case at the Wisma Atlet health worker.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, not all of them are in isolation at the Athlete’s House. There are two patients who are isolated at RSPI Sulianti Saroso.

It was confirmed that it was not because of severe COVID-19 symptoms, the Director of Direct Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, Dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, revealed the reason why the two were isolated at the Sulianti Saroso Hospital.

“(Not severe symptoms). Mild symptoms actually, just a mild cough,” said Dr. Nadia to detikcom Sunday (12/26/2021).

“But chose to isolate at the RSPI,” he continued.

So far, according to him, no severe COVID-19 symptoms have been reported. Something similar, as has happened in many countries, has not seen an increase in hospitalizations and deaths from Omicron COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the increase in Omicron cases that recently occurred in Indonesia was triggered by an increase in foreign travel agents who every day could touch 3 thousand people. Meanwhile, the Omicron variant has expanded to more than 80 countries.

Therefore, it is not surprising that imported Omicron cases in Indonesia continue to grow.

“Most of them are foreign travelers, which are the majority of PMI, which currently reaches 3,000 per day,” concluded Dr. Nadia.
