This year 2021 again, the end-of-year celebrations are marked by a strong rebound in the health crisis. According to CovidTracker data, the incidence rate of the Rhône continues to increase and reached on December 19, 2021 on average 737 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (where the alert threshold is set at 50).
By map, thanks to Public Health France, it is possible to observe the municipalities most affected by the virus. We take a look around Lyon.
Where the incidence rate exceeds 1,000
In all of the districts of Lyon, the incidence rate is extremely high and varies between 500 and 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The same observation is made in almost all the communes of the agglomeration: from Villeurbanne to Brignais, from l’Arbresle to Saint-Priest…
A handful of cities appear in a very dark blue, synonymous with an incidence rate greater than 1,000. Here are those which are concerned around the capital of the Gauls: La Mulatière, Dardilly, the Tour de Salvagny, Saint-Romain-au-Mont-d’Or, Albigny-sur-Saône, Quincieux, Marcy, Morancé, Saint-Jean- les-Vignes, Saint-Germain-Nuelles, Le Breuil or even Sarcey.
These less affected municipalities
Although the circulation of the virus is very active, the incidence rate is included “only” between 250 and 500 in Saint-Fons, Champagne-au-Mont-d’Or, Pollionnay, Poleymieux-au-Mont-d’Or, Rochetaillée-sur-Saône, Fleurieu-sur-Saône and Taluyers.
You have to go down to the west of the Rhône to find six towns with a rate between 150 and 250 : Montromant, Brullioles, Les Halles, Villechenève, Chambost-Longuessaigne and Saint-Romain-de-Popeye.
In the entire southern half of the department, two towns have a rate between 50 and 150 : Sainte-Consorce and Souzy. And in the same sector, four cities are currently below the alert threshold with rates between 20 and 50 : Chevinay, Saint-André-la-Côte, Riverie and Affoux.
