Incidentally, Singapore is Indonesia’s closest competitor in the FIFA rankings for Southeast Asian countries. With this result, now Indonesia and Singapore are only 5.86 points adrift.

With the difference in points, Indonesia’s potential to overtake Singapore is even greater, including in terms of pot distribution in the Asian Cup qualifying draw in 2023. But that can’t happen even though Indonesia won the 2020 AFF Cup final.

Indonesia still has to have matches that will affect the FIFA rankings in January. Of course, victory is something they must get.

For your information, Indonesia has so far qualified for the 2023 Asian Cup qualification after winning over Taiwan in the Play-off round last June. Indonesia is joined by Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, and Guam/Cambodia in pot 4.
