The BMW Christmas short film begins in the BMW Group headquarters in Munich. It’s late afternoon, with a classic BMW 3.0 CS approaching. The driver getting out of the vehicle is not just anyone: it is Christoph Waltz.
The actor is going to a meeting with Oliver Zipse and the BMW iX model. The actor is intensely concerned with the ecological aspects of sustainable powertrain technologies, appreciating premium quality, technological precision and attention to detail, making the BMW iX particularly interesting to him. However, Christmas is not really busy.
The complication is already unfolding at the reception: Christoph Waltz finds out that he has been invited to the BMW Christmas party, where Oliver Zipse is also toasting with those present. A co-worker wearing a Santa hat is willing to offer him an escort, but Christoph Waltz freezes and a hilarious escape begins. The actor is now preoccupied with only one thing: staying away from the Christmas party and avoiding anything to do with Christmas. However, this is not so simple.
Star parade
In addition to Waltz, the film also features two other celebrities: Kai Langer, lead designer at BMW i Division and star designer Alexa Chung, who are delighted to have a BMW Christmas party.
While looking for the best escape route, Christoph Waltz also encounters another familiar face: Alex Hirschi, commonly known as Supercar Blondie, is about to premiere a secretly hidden four-wheeler. The actor then explodes into the picture, but after Supercar Blondie starts a loud objection, he quickly disappears from the scene. In spite of the escape, Waltz only ends up in the middle of a Christmas party, where he is immediately approached by Oliver Zipse, chairman of the board of BMW AG, with whom he toasts cheerfully.
A BMW Christmas movie wouldn’t even be a real Christmas movie without a happy ending, but what exactly that is can be seen in the video below:
