SINGAPORE – The Indonesian National Team (Timnas) against Singapore in the second leg of the semifinals AFF Cup 2020. Competing at the National Stadium, Saturday (12/25/2021), night WIB, the Garuda Squad beat Singapore 4-2 even though they had to go through extra rounds.

The course of the match

First round

The game only lasted five minutes, the Garuda players immediately troubled Singapore’s defense. Witan Sulaeman’s collaboration with Ricky Kambuaya ended with a strong kick, but hit a Singapore defender.

Second round

Starting the second half with an advantage in the number of players, the Indonesian national team was able to dominate the game. The combination of short passes by the Indonesian national team disrupted Singapore’s defense and almost scored a goal if Witan’s pass in front of goal could be grabbed by a teammate.

Singapore also tried to retaliate through counterattacks. Unfortunately, the Indonesian national team players are still able to block Singapore’s efforts.

In the 119th minute, Singapore goalkeeper Hassan Sunny received a red card for violating Irfan Jaya. In the end, the Indonesian national team won 4-2 to qualify for the final.
