Central Saxony. The so-called “Christmas Peace” in the Central Saxony District Office is valid from now until December 31, 2021.
“During this time, no burdensome administrative measures should be carried out,” said the press office of the district office. The departments and units would decide on their own responsibility which processes are included.
However, the processing of ongoing administrative processes is guaranteed. “The district treasury does not send any reminders and no enforcement measures are carried out during this period,” said the press office.
Donations instead of Christmas greetings
District Administrator Matthias Damm (CDU) decided not to send Christmas greetings by post this year and instead decided to use the money for printing and mailing to support four schools with a focus on intellectual development.
The special school “Dr.-Lothar-Kreyssig” in Flöha, for example, wanted two large, stable boxes for outdoor toys. The rainbow school in Döbeln receives a voucher for a boat trip on the Kriebstein dam.
Several Lego sets and a book voucher are going to the “Wilhelm Pfeffer School” in Rochlitz, and the special needs school in Frankenberg has also requested new books and a guitar for the lower grades.
“The anticipation was already great in the schools, and the donations are in very good hands there,” says Matthias Damm. “If we can make children’s eyes shine with this, then you shouldn’t think twice about doing without the greeting card tradition,” the district administrator hopes for everyone’s understanding.
