Millions of people are still flying, despite increasing coronary heart disease. But many holidaymakers leaving on Christmas Eve unfortunately did not make it to this year’s Christmas dinner.
Internationally, over 4,000 flights are canceled over the Christmas weekend. The reason is increased infection among the employees and lack of crew. The many planes that had to be on the ground on Christmas Eve hit the Americans hardest. Hundreds of the canceled trips were to be domestic, in or out of the USA.
Many who had planned to go home for Christmas therefore had to spend Christmas Eve at airports and hotels, hoping to depart later in Christmas.
The airline United airlines writes in a press release that the many cancellations are due to increased omicron infection both among flight personnel and employees on the ground, according to the news agency Reuters.
