The Dutch royals wish everyone “a merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2022”, as can be read on the card. The wish can be read in English, Spanish, Frisian and also Papiamentu, a language spoken on the islands. Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire, which belong to the Netherlands.The photo was taken at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague, where the royal family of the Netherlands lives.

The family is festively dressed: Willem-Alexander in tuxedo, mother and daughters in stylish dresses. However, Princess Alexia’s dress is particularly striking: she comes from the Parisian brand Maje and was also worn a few days earlier by Princess Eléonore during the annual Christmas concert in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace in Brussels, albeit in the blue version. According to fashion magazine Elle, the Maje dress is now selling like hot cakes at the European royals.

Máxima is also holding their new dog Mambo in the photo, and their two black Labradors are sitting on the floor in front of the family. Above the royal members is a chandelier from Studio Drift, made of dandelions glued to lights. Máxima chose the lamp herself and it is one of her favorite pieces, she said during her interview earlier this year.
