Cabrières-d’Avignon: winners of the santon drawing competition rewarded

Organized as part of the Interregional Santon Fair by La Cabro d’Or, the drawing competition on the theme of the santon offered before the Christmas holidays to CE and CM students from the village schools and Coustellet was a great success. . At the end of November, Daniel Chabert, Provencal teacher at La Cabro d’Or, visited the children in order to prepare them for the competition, by presenting them the traditional characters and the animals that inhabit the crib. Nathalie Bellanger’s class also made 23 very beautiful figurines evoking the different trades and activities, with the invaluable help of Chantal.

The works of the budding artists were then exhibited in the village hall so that they could be admired by families and visitors. Treats came to reward all the participants while on Sunday afternoon, at the end of the Salon, the winners of the drawing and santons competition were called on the stage of the village hall, to receive their prize from Daniel Chabert, Sandrine Pourcel, deputy in charge of school affairs, and Michel Servant-Ferraz, spokesperson for the Collectif des Santonniers de Vaucluse.
