Here is the little anecdote of the day which takes us back to 31 years ago, December 23, 1990. That day the Boston Celtics of Larry Bird (14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists) won at home against the Hawks 132-104. So far nothing unusual except that this match had started on November 28 and had to be stopped after a little more than a quarter time because of a slippery floor. It wasn’t until 26 days later that he resumed when the score stood at 37-22 in favor of Larry Bird’s teammates.
A match quickly folded since in the wake of Kevin Gamble (25 points) the Celtics started off 18-4 to bring the score to 55-26. At the break the score was 69-41 and the C’s lead peaked at 39 points in the third act.
This is not the only time in history that a game has been played in two games since more recently, on March 8, 2008 the Hawks and the Heat completed a game that started on December 19, 2007. That day the two teams had faced each other twice! We tell you everything here.
Then especially it happened in 1978-79, during an incredible Sixers – Nets.
