The Real Madrid squad lost eight players over the last week due to COVID-19. They are Luka Modric, Marcelo, Gareth Bale, Andriy Lunin, Marco Asensio, Rodrygo, Isco and David Alaba.
Facing Athletic Bilbao in the last match of the Spanish League in 2021, Thursday (12/23/2021) early morning WIB, Madrid totaled without 11 players. Apart from those who tested positive for the coronavirus, three other players were absent due to injuries and card accumulation.
As a result, Madrid’s bench in the match against Bilbao was filled by many academy players. Even Eden Hazard got a chance to be a starter.
