“There is an understanding that this will be January 2022, and on our side, it will be Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov through the diplomatic departments. The President said that he is ready at any time. There will be such a meeting, but the date and so on – that’s to be announced later, “Peskov said after a press conference with Vladimir Putin.
According to the President of the Russian Federation, it is the West, not Russia, that should now provide security guarantees.
“You must give us guarantees, you – and immediately, now, and not talk it over for decades,” Putin said, noting that there should be no more NATO advance eastward, and this primarily applies to Ukraine.
Recall that the American side was transferred draft agreements between the Russian Federation and the United States on security guarantees and agreements on security measures for Russia and the member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
