Vulnerable Emma (10) ‘finally’ gets her vaccination: ‘Can’t believe it’

Ten-year-old Emma van der Pluijm has been at home since March last year, because she had Q fever and is extra vulnerable to corona. But now children with a medical condition can also be vaccinated.

She hopes she can finally go back to school.

At the age of three, Emma contracted a Q fever infection, reports Heart of the Netherlands. That left her with a fatigue syndrome. Her lungs don’t work as well and she is extra susceptible to viruses. If she has the flu, she will soon be ill for six weeks.
