Next year, anyone can land in space

JAKARTA – In 2022, anyone can land in space. This was confirmed when NASA had approved the first private astronaut mission to the Station Outer Space I nternasional (ISS).

This was revealed by the release date of the mission’s launch. The plan, the US space agency will conduct a launch on February 28, 2022. The mission for travelers is run by the US company Axiom Space.

In a statement, NASA said that it and its international partners had approved the crew of Axiom Mission 1 for the first private astronaut mission to the ISS through the Multilateral Crew Operations Panel.

Citing the Slash Gear page, Wednesday (12/22/2021), NASA has also confirmed that the crew has completed a medical evaluation.

The mission, called Axiom Mission 1, will fly four travelers to the ISS. They include professionally trained former NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegría, who flew on three Space Shuttle missions and previously stayed on the ISS for one.

In addition to Lopez-Alegría, the crew on this mission included Larry Connor, Mark Pathy, and Eytan Stibbe, from the US, Canada, and Israel, respectively.

They will stay for eight days on the space station. According to Axiom Space, the crew will conduct research during their journey.

The company says on its website that Ax-1 crew members will dedicate their eight-day mission to the ISS conducting innovative research developed for microgravity on behalf of large organizations ranging from hospitals to technology companies.

Key findings from the series extensive experiments will return to Earth and mankind.
