The accident happened around 5.30 pm on Antwerpseweg.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and were able to get the man out of the car. An air ambulance landed near the crash site. The trauma doctor took place in the ambulance to take care of the victim. The victim was later rushed to hospital in an ambulance under police escort.

The exact injuries are not yet known. The police are investigating the cause. The road was closed to traffic after the accident.
