Defensive universal Panák extended his contract with Sparta

Stopper, who can also play the position of defensive midfielder, has been working with serious injuries since the autumn of 2018. The year before last, he transferred from Karviná to Sparta, but due to persistent health problems, he had to undergo another operation. He even considered the end of his career at the time, but eventually decided to continue and returned to the lawns this season.

“I am very happy. After what happened to me, I didn’t believe much in it anymore. I’m very happy that it worked out. I’ll do everything to pay it back to Sparta,” Panák said.

In the autumn, he played a total of 1952 minutes in 23 competitive matches and was the eighth busiest Spartan. In the September league duel with Zlín, he scored his only goal so far in the Letna jersey. Panák was also nominated for the national team for the first time for the November matches with Kuwait and Estonia, which he did not intervene in.

“I owe the management and everyone in the club. They supported me at a time when I wouldn’t expect it very much. This is the icing on the cake. Now I want to win the league and preferably the cup,” Panák added.
