“TTT Rīga” basketball players visit the Moscow MBA in the Euroleague game

Latvian women’s basketball club “TTT Rīga” will meet with the Moscow MBA today in the Euroleague game of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in Moscow. The game will start at 6 pm and will be available live on the Viaplay platform.

The Rigans started the second lap with a 60:75 loss to the away team against the Yekaterinburg UGMK, followed by a loss at home to Salamanca’s Perfumerias Avenida, yielding 51:71. The Moscow team, meanwhile, also started the second round with a loss to the Salamanca team with a score of 69:77. In the last game, the Muscovites with the result 61:92 acknowledged the superiority of the Prague ZVVZ USK.

“TTT Rīga” won the first team match with 64:59 at home. The most successful in this match with 19 points was Jessmine Thomas. “TTT Rīga” with three wins in nine games in group A is in fifth place, but the Moscow team with two successes and seven losses is the seventh of eight teams. The main tournament of the Euroleague will end on February 1, 2022. The top four teams in each group will qualify for the playoffs, while the fifth and sixth place winners will continue in the European Cup. The UGMK of Ekaterinburg became the champions last season, winning the “Perfumerias Avenida” of Salamanca in the final.

Last season, TTT Rīga lost all six games in the Euroleague Main Event and did not qualify for the playoffs. The tournament was held on a “bubble” basis in two runs, but this season the teams have returned to the usual format. The modest result is largely due to a lack of practice, as the team was unable to play the match from the beginning of November due to an emergency. In order to get a practice, TTT Rīga decided to play in the European Women’s Basketball League in the middle of December, where they managed to win bronze. “TTT Rīga” also won the Latvian Women’s Basketball League for the eighth time in a row and for the 20th time in the history of the club.
