Gaëlle Olivier has been appointed Deputy CEO of the Société Générale group, Chief Operating Officer. Gaëlle Olivier is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, of the ENSAE (National School of Statistics and Economic Administration) and of the Institute of Actuaries. She began her career at Crédit Lyonnais as a financial engineer on equity derivatives. In 1998 she joined Axa where she held several management positions for twenty years, including 10 years in Asia, ie Japan, China, Hong-Kong, South-East Asia and India.

At the end of 2017, she decided to leave Axa to work with startups specializing in data and innovation. She will become Director of Societe Generale Asia-Pacific from January 2020. She will be replaced in these former responsibilities in Asia by Cécile Bartenieff, currently Chief Operating Officer and Global Head of Technology & Operations at Large Client Banking & Investor Solutions.

Sébastien Proto remains Deputy Managing Director in charge of the France networks and private banking. In particular, he is responsible for creating the new bank resulting from the merger of the two networks of Société Générale and Crédit du Nord. As for Philippe Aymerich, he remains Deputy CEO in charge of all retail banking activities. Slawomir Krupa remains Deputy Managing Director in charge of Corporate Banking and Investor Solutions activities.

Environmental, Social and Governance criteria that have become strategic

Diony Lebot, Deputy CEO of the group, will therefore be responsible for overseeing all policies concerning Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria and their effective translation into the trajectories of professions and functions. She also retains the supervision of the specialist financial services and insurance businesses, and in particular of the strategic development of ALD, of which she chairs the Board of Directors.
