Just a week ago, the daily average of confirmed cases was 85 positive cases and 36 probable cases, according to the Health department. At the same time, the positivity rate, that is, the percentage of people who test positive for the virus of all those who take the test, rose to 13% on Monday, which represents a considerable increase compared to a week ago when it was in 2.65%. The increase coincides with the record of cases established last Thursday, after the confirmation of 2,931 positives in one day by molecular or antigen testing. The last time Puerto Rico saw a 13.2% increase was on December 8, 2020.
