That Special Forces VIPS is not just a reality show, the candidates soon find out. Hannelore is immediately confronted with the facts.
After jumping from a helicopter into the water, the group gathers at the water’s edge. During a brief explanation from the commander, Hannelore suddenly faints. The group is shocked by an accident, but they are not allowed to come to the aid of the newscaster. ”Just keep listening. Life just goes on,” they are told.

Fortunately, she is assisted by people from the team, after which the newscaster quickly joins the group. ”I am a go-getter. I like not to listen to my body now and then, then I’m just stubborn”, says Hannelore. She continues: ”I was always picked last in gym class (…) Eighteen months ago I was fed up. I felt fat and lethargic. I am now fitter and stronger than ever.”
Yet at the end of the first episode – with a heavy heart – she decides to keep the credit to herself and out Special Forces VIPS to step. With the words ‘staff“I give up,” she ended her participation. She has learned a lot in this short period. “I have to set more realistic goals and I don’t have to prove myself to my family,” Hannelore says with tears in her eyes.
